Old Japanese Sumida Incense Burner/Sugar Bowl w/Lid
This fascinating Sumida Incense Burner or Sugar Bowl with lid decorated with red ground and flambe glaze, applied figures of playing children and a monkey.Many scenes on Sumida pottery depict fables from Japanese folklore. The animal most often seen is the monkey because of their human-like actions.In this work the intricacy of the applied figures is amazing, individual features on the faces can be seen in detail.The details on the faces are excellent!
It is embelished with glazed mark-a signature saying Inoue Ryosai.
Measures 3,5 inches height and 4 inches width.In very good used condition except a few small chips on the boy's garments. |

This vintage/antique cast aluminum mailbox is a terrific collectible!Remington mailbox is a wall-mount style with two flaps. The first flap is for accepting mail and the second flap is for retrieving mail.There is the hasp for a padlock.There is also a viewing window on the front. The exterior has a special texture and decorated with an Eastern Star.It measures approximately13,25 inches long, 5,25 inches wide and 1,75 inches depth. No cracks,breks or repair. |

Old Cast Iron Hand Painted Punch Doorstop
This cast iron Punch doorstop is cold painted in polychrome pigments.Mr. Punch is a well known character in folklore and popular culture, with origins dating back to about 1300, in the Commedia dell 'Arte brought by troupes of actors from Italy to the rest of Europe. The Italian story book figure of a Pulcinella was transformed into Mr. Punch in England, who was joined by a wife, Judy, and by 1700 the Punch and Judy show had become an English tradition. This doorstop measures approx. 12 inches height and 9 inches width. In excellent condition.
